Goodwill Day is a project similar to Scouting for Food in that we visit neighborhoods for donations. Instead of food, we will collect re-usable household items for Goodwill Industries on March 5th. This is a Good Turn for America project, so your Scouts will qualify for two patches: a Good Turn for America patch (from Scout Stores). Patch and segment recognitions will be available to those that participate. Kent Shelton will provide more information. Scouting for Food Bag pick up will be at the November Roundtable. |
|
When you participate in Tree Plants, Goodwill Day, Scouting for Food, or other unit-organized service projects, please make certain that all your hours are reported by the end of the year. This way we’ll have an accurate measure of Scouting’s impact in our council! Report hours at the project website: www.goodturnforamerica.org. You’ll need a password to report your unit’s service projects on the website. Get it from district executive name; he/she has a list of passwords. |

Grab your hammer and head to camp, we need YOUR help! Each of our camps holds a Hammer Camp work weekend or a work day during the spring that is vital to our ability to open camp. We will be building new, repairing old, and just making sure that everything is ready to go. We pay for the food for the weekend or day, and every participant will be awarded a special recognition as a token of our thanks. The need is real. Make plans now to help get a camp ready for Scouting to come to life. Do you have special skills? Let us know so we can plan on using you to your (and our camp's) best use. |
