Project Tiger!

What if we were able to get Tiger leaders Identified and trained before the Fall.   What if we were able to have a program for now Kindergarteners over the summer?  How can we best identify and recruit Kindergarteners in the Spring?   We seem to have figured out answers to all these questions.

New Tiger leaders and parents are joining this Spring?  Our goal has been 6 Tigers and 2 adult leaders per pack.   May 31st, from 6:30pm to 8pm at Big Al’s on Borland Rd in Beaverton, we will celebrate our efforts.   Pizza, Sodas game tokens will be provided to those who have taken leadership in this effort.

Sign on to BeAScout

In 2010 the Boy Scouts of America Launched a website to help people find Scouting in their area.  Every unit in the Wapiti District has been listed on this site.   Currently, if someone is interested in joining your unit, they can only communicate with the council office.   Each unit has been asked to log into your MyScouting.org account and update your unit’s BeAScout information.   This way people who are interested in your unit can contact you directly.

Website change for reporting Service Hours. If you have tried logging on to Good Turn for America you will notice you are now being redirected to a Journey to Excellence Web Site.  On the right side of the JTE page is a link to log your service hours.  The actual link is https://scoutnet.scouting.org/gtfa/ui/security/login.aspx. All the log in info and reporting is the same after you go to this page.   Please log in and submit your hours.

All Leaders update your MyScouting.org profileEveryone was required to go online and create a MyScouting account to complete your youth protection.   Now is the time to have all leaders update their MyScouting profile with your membership ID number.  This will ensure that all your online training gets recorded on Scoutnet.   Also, Each unit should update your BeAScout information on www.MyScouting.org.   BeAScout directs people interested in joining Scouting directly to you.

Your Friends of Scouting dollars help provide a staff person who helps volunteers make a difference in the lives of youth.  Todd McDonald has served the Cascade Pacific Council for over 16 years.
